Had the opportunity to take Ms. Chelsea Piercefield (granddaughter) Crappie fishing at East Fork Lake Saturday, after work. Had a great time!
The Lake and fish conditions weren’t to favorable but the quality time with Chelsea far more exceeded expectations.
The bite was hard to find racing the clock after work but it finally came around. We got into the Crappie action after about an hour of hard hunting – behind many tough Saturday Crappie fishermen.
The bite for us was the Jig and float and Chelsea found the rhythm after she caught a few. Then it was on! We had a few snags and caught a several fish. Chelsea looked like a Pro after the first hour. Even managed to take a few home for skillet.
The Wildlife setting was beautiful! Chelsea was fascinated with the Coots; the Lake scenery; the Gulls; and she brought to my attention the residual of the Winter fish kill! It was great time spent just enjoying life and the scenery!
Then Mrs. Roehm had nice dinner waiting for us – when we got home at dark. I cleaned the fish and she took a small mess home to Casey. Looking forward to doing it again and again. Love it!
