Chad and Dad fished Saturday at a local lake. Caught a few Crappie. Very slow bite. Crappie were suspended and scattered. The ones we caught were hitting at 4 ft depth.
The lake was half covered with ice. The other side was fish-able. This is how I concluded the water was 33 degrees. We were “twitching” the float and jig and catching Crappie on the stop.
Slow bite but something to do just before the New Year came in. It was 45 degrees outside but the water was COLD! Crappie move and bite slow but they can be caught.
Winter Blues. No Meldahl Sauger report. Slow mode for Chad and Dad. Chad went back Sunday and caught 25. Dad stayed on the computer.
